The frieze is fitted with four drawers interspersed by four dummy drawers. One drawer retains the original red morocco leather lined writing slope on a ratchet support. 
The design of the table corresponds to one supplied by Oakley to Papworth Hall, Cambridgeshire, England. This table was invoiced by Oakley as:
'A calamander wood circular loo table upon a pedestal and claws, the top inlaid with a border of stars in brass and ebony £31 10s 0d'. Loo was a card game popular at the time. 
Note: The brass handles are of later date.
