The table is fitted with a single drawer across the full depth of the table, with a working drawer front on both sides.

A drawing for a Pembroke table published in Thomas Sheraton’s The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer’s Drawing Book relates to this table. The drawing features additional hinged flaps which have been omitted on this table. Sheraton’s restrained description of the design gives some idea of the popularity of this type of table during the final decade of the 18th century:
