An Irish George III white statuary and brocatello marble chimneypiece attributed to George and Hill Darley.
George and Hill Darley were Dublin stone-cutters. The two brothers, partners in a long established family business that lasted from the 1660s until well into the 19th century, were responsible for a number of designs for chimneypieces, some of which are preserved in the Royal Irish Academy, Dublin. The west front of Trinity College Dublin was built by the Darley family.
