An important early 18th century walnut bureau bookcase of outstanding colour retaining all the original brass handles, escutcheons and carrying handles having a broken-arched pediment centred by a later carved giltwood cartouche above two doors with pilasters retaining the original rectangular bevelled mirror plates enclosing a fitted interior with adjustable upper shelves and pigeon-holes above a central cupboard door flanked by folio compartments above three short drawers, the fall revealing a fitted interior of drawers and pigeon-holes centred by a fitted door, below are two short and three long graduated drawers; on shaped bracket feet.
