An extremely rare and important mid 18th century Chippendale period serpentine shaped mahogany partner's desk, retaining the original black blind tooled leather insert within a crossgrain moulded edge, above two...An extremely rare and important mid 18th century Chippendale period serpentine shaped mahogany partner's desk, retaining the original black blind tooled leather insert within a crossgrain moulded edge, above two drawers in the frieze with an arched kneehole below and a further three graduated drawers each side, and having the same arrangement on the reverse side, all retaining their original ornate brass handles; on a moulded plinth terminating in ogee bracket feet.
Note: Only very few examples of serpentine shaped desks survive.
