The chairs retain their original needlework covers and most of the gilding. They belong to a well-known suite of chairs, many of them in public collections and museums in England...The chairs retain their original needlework covers and most of the gilding. They belong to a well-known suite of chairs, many of them in public collections and museums in England and the USA. One pair is in the Metropolitan Museum in New York, and another pair is in the Lady Lever Art Gallery in Liverpool, while a single chair without needlework is in the Parker Knoll collection at the Metropolitan University in London. Two chairs photographed by R. W. Symonds cannot be traced at the moment.Provenance
