As always, it gives me great pleasure to send you our latest catalogue.
You will see in these pages a few old friends which we have been fortunate to be able to repurchase. Within this group I draw your attention to the amazing pair of huge Chinese ‘nodding head’ figures on page 90, the best examples we have ever had, and to the exceptionally rare pair of George IV chairs commissioned for Liverpool town hall on page 38.
The scarlet japanned Langlois commode on page 10 is unique and a major discovery, its japanning and metalwork are both of the very highest quality. The gilt gesso table on page 152 is another discovery, which is not only highly important in itself but also comes with Royal provenance.
We are delighted to announce that we will once again be participating in Masterpiece London at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. After two years of the fair being suspended due to the pandemic, this will be a most welcome return.
During the run of the fair, we will be hosting a selling exhibition in the gallery of wonderful porcelain objects by Clare Potter, who has had various successful exhibitions around the world.
